Using the Keys to Mushrooms of Cascadia

In this program, I will describe the construction of the book and we will work through numerous examples of identifying mushrooms using Mushrooms of Cascadia: An Illustrated Key. This will be a user participation program but will not require participants to use a copy of the book to participate.

I taught chemistry, mycology and organic farming at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington for 32 years (1972-2004). With coauthors Alan and Arleen Bessette, I wrote Ascomycete Fungi of North America, (University of Texas Press, 2014). I am a contributing editor of Fungi magazine and am a coauthor of MatchMaker, a free mushroom identification program covering nearly 5,000 taxa with over 6,000 images of 2300 illustrated taxa (www.matchmakermushrooms.com).
